Details on Cost Model:

*If your family earns less than $100,000 per year, you are eligible for a full, need-based, 100% scholarship.

*Place Corps uses an equitable cost model to ensure 100% of accepted applicants are able to attend.

*All tuition is self determined & household income is self assessed.

Our model is a model of trust and reciprocity. As an organization we don’t determine what participants contribute, we empower and entrust our participants and their families with that decision. We are working as an organization to offer transformational learning that begins with ensuring access aligned with our values.

Place Corps fundraises and offers payment tiers to ensure accepted applicants can attend without financial barrier while practicing redistribution of wealth and building a sustainable program model. We believe in the power of education to create radical and necessary changes for good, and see learning as a valuable gift.

All Place Corps participants are accepted into Place Corps equally. We have created an equitable cost share model that acknowledges that costs should be shared in ways that redistribute capital equitably and ensures that those with financial need can be served by philanthropy. Our program has a cost. We ask all participants and families to contribute to the cost when possible. This cost includes: salaries for educators, lunches, materials, rent, administrative costs, a month-long farm residency, stipends and awards, plus much more.

Tier Guidelines & program cost are scaled as follows:

GREEN [LOW INCOME]: $0 | NO COST

RED [MIDDLE INCOME]: $1,001 - $18,000 | LOW COST

BLUE [HIGH INCOME]: $18,001 -$36,400 | TRUE COST

We offer scholarship equal to 10% off a paid tier to students who identify as women and/or BIPOC, along with payment plans. Tiers are self-selected and rooted in a culture of trust.
