You're invited!

The Hudson Valley is an orchestra of hues, greens going yellow and grays going lavender. Autumn has arrived; the time has come to celebrate the harvest of seasons past and seasons to come. Place Corps would like to extend an invitation to celebrate this seasonal transition and celebration at Friends and Family Weekend happening October 12th and 13th, rain or shine.

Friends and Family Weekend begins Saturday with a Place Corps Open House from 1pm to 5pm. Come meet the Place Corps team and tour campus, the classroom, and the 2019 cohort’s active building projects.

Join Place Corps at the Annual Hawthorne Valley Fall Festival on Sunday, October 13 from 10am to 4pm. The Fall Festival is a free public event to celebrate Hawthorne Valley’s diverse community for their support and partnership amidst the beauty of autumn in Columbia County. This year, the Fall Festival features local artisans, live music, hayrides, cider pressing, children’s crafts and activities, a pie baking contest, and a Place Corps booth! Visit the Place Corps booth to see what the 2019 cohort has been up to. Explore examples of their zero waste lifestyle, fermentations with harvest from their campus, and documentation of in-process design projects. The Place Corps team will be screen printing on site; bring a t-shirt to up-cycle with the cohort! To read more about the Hawthorne Valley Fall Festival, click here.

Interested in joining the learning, but can’t make it to Friends and Family Weekend? Place Corps offers the opportunity for interested parties to tour campus, sample a class, and meet with the current cohort. If you are interested or have questions, please reach out to info@placecorps.org
