Become a Mentor to our Place Corps Fellows!
The Place Corps Mentorship Program pairs fellows with volunteer community mentors who provide additional support beyond Place Corps programming. Mentors will support fellows in advancing their personal and professional goals while fostering caring connections in the community.
Mentors Support fellows with:
Empowerment & Advocacy: Building self-confidence, skill-building, and supporting mentees in accessing essential resources
Professional & Personal Development: Career exploration, job readiness, leadership, and confidence-building
Community Engagement: Volunteering, civic participation, and local connections
Practical Life Skills: Budgeting, time management, and everyday guidance
We’re Looking For Adult Mentors who are:
Grounded and experienced in navigating adulthood
Open-minded, relatable, and willing to both learn and guide
Engaged in community life and demonstrate leadership
Strong communicators with empathy and active listening
Consistent, reliable, and aligned with the Place Corps Way
Able to provide references and have a clean criminal record
Driver’s license
Volunteering as a mentor empowers Place Corps fellows to grow, connect, and thrive - during and after their fellowship! Mentors make a positive impact that lasts a lifetime!

MENTOR COMMITTMENT
Duration: 6-months commitment
Monthly meet-ups
Serve as a positive role model, listening ear, and trusted guide.
Maintain appropriate boundaries and respect mentee confidentiality.
Report back to Place Corps Staff lead on:
Mentee achievements and milestones.
Any challenges, concerns, or areas where additional support is needed.
