KNOW LOVE SERVE, INC.

In 2018, the idea of Place Corps was seeded between our co-founders Martin Ping, Matthew Stinchcomb, and Dawn Breeze. Through many adaptations and evolutions, Place Corps grew from an idea to a funded program to an education institute that offers diverse programming from fellowships and residencies to summer programs and community learning.

As of May 2021, Know Love Serve, Inc. is officially a nonprofit organization. Recognizing we are know love serve with place corps exemplifying our values and developing a model nonprofit that has financial justice, democracy. We are thrilled to grow and expand into all the possibilities this status allows us. However, it took us almost three years to arrive here.

This next step of becoming a nonprofit allows us to expand even further in the possibilities of what we can offer and who we can serve. We will continue to offer and design Place Corps programming. Yet, we are excited to explore what else can be held by Know Love Serve, Inc.

The name of our organization draws upon our mission: to know, love, and serve our places. We intentionally uplifted our three tenets and organizing principles of know, love, and serve to create a name that also serves as a spell of sorts. In all our work moving forward, knowing, loving, and serving will always be named out and uplifted.
