Place Corps’ main learning campus is located on the Hawthorne Valley Farm in Ghent, NY. Residents have shared access to studios at Hawthorne Valley School as well as Place Corps’ campus, designed for a multitude of approaches such as: painting, clay, woodworking, iron forging, and movement.
A major component of the curriculum is engagement with the urban and rural landscape as a living classroom. Excursions offer valuable opportunities to bring critical conversation to our rural and urban communities. Fellows will participate in conferences, events, and trainings throughout the residency.
We are committed to creating an inspirational environment for fellows to explore, challenge, and test new ideas, facilitating both individual research and interdisciplinary interaction.
Place Corps’ homestead campus is uniquely situated between the Hudson Valley and the Berkshires, with each area offering rich cultural histories, beautiful landscapes, and diverse learning institutions that are an endless source of inspiration.
